Sponsorship Spotlight Kevin R

The first time I visited Guatemala, I knew I wanted to support the partnership of Tios for Hope and Maná de Vida because I loved the mission. It was hard for me to ‘choose’ a child to sponsor.  There were so many students, it seemed uncomfortable to pick one.  I supported the ministry for a couple of years without choosing a child to sponsor. At one point, it seemed like a couple of the students chose me… I embraced the opportunity to start a relationship with them and officially became a Tio (Uncle) to them.

I remember being able to attend middle school graduation for one of our sponsored children.  It was very special to share that time with her family. Receiving notes and social media messages from our sponsored children is very encouraging.  We received a very special card for Mother’s Day that was a huge blessing.

The best part about sponsoring a child for me is how a small contribution can make such a big impact.  Maná de Vida is a wonderful organization that is changing the culture in their city.  I don’t know how I could be part of a more strategic ministry at home.  They are changing people’s lives and for a small contribution we can help and encourage them.  I love being a partner and supporter of such a wonderful ministry through partnership with Tios for Hope, Inc.
